I purchased the Milwaukee 18 volt lithium 1/2" hammer drill kit and could not be happier. I had read excellent reviews about this item and they were all accurate. This thing is powerful and the batteries seem to stay charged forever. It's heavier than some cordless drills, but then it's so much more powerful. It has a metal chuck ( not plastic like the competition ) and the chuck jaws are carbide which helps grip the bit. I like it so much I bought a second drill body only to compliment the kit. I was never a fan of cordless tools, but Milwaukee has changed all that.

Very good performer. More torque than most jobs need. With Lithium cells battery never seems to run out of energy. Love the fact that you can use older ni-cads or newer Lithiums. Also reversable battery position gives you a nice choice for compact vs. balance. A little heavier than my older 12v, but handle helps with that.

Even with the heat indexes in the 100's, this tool doesn't slow for much and more importantly the battery doesn't fade to nothing overnight as I find with my NiCad cordless tools.

br /First time out of the box, it was used to mount a handrail to an existing decorative concrete structure. After numerous two inch or deeper holes drilled in to a cement/brick/concrete mix, including a few 5/8's diameter ones for lag shields, it hadn't even eaten up a quarter charge on the battery.
br /
br /I love the charge indicator on the battery, which takes the guesswork out of deciding whether to continue on, or recharge, then go to the next task.
br /
br /Well balanced tool, comfortable grip and takes care of what you ask of it without any fuss. On the strength of this purchase, I'll be be buying a lot more tools from Milwaukee.

This drill is a typical Milwaukee so far. If the job is easy it punches holes out quickly. Doesn't balk with more difficult jobs either. Anyone who purchases this drill motor will be most likely very happy with a
br / inexpensive yet terrifically good tool. I would speak more highly but I need to use it more than I already have.
