I have purchased DEWALT in the past, when I was flush. Since then I have had to settle for other, less expensive, hand tools.
br /
br /I can't tell that this reconditioned item is used. And it has a better motor, features, and "fit and feel" then it's competition. Highly recommended.

At first I was nervous about buying a reconditioned cordless tool. But after already owning one of these drills purchased new, I decided the price was worth the risk for such a great tool.
br /
br /After receiving the 2 drills I ordered, I couldn't be more happy. You'd never even know they were reconditioned. The drills themselves were in flawless shape and the batteries didn't even have scuffs on the bottom. I'd guess these were probably just customer returns that had never seen a bit.
br /
br /I've used the same drill for ~2 years now and haven't found any problems with it. Its more than powerful enough for anything I've thrown at it. Battery life seems to be very good. I especially like the metal constructed tool-free chuck, making bit changes quick and easy. With 3 speed gearing, 20+ torque settings, and a variable speed trigger this drill can do it all.
br /
br /With the included batteries, case, and side handle, this kit is a true steal! If you plan on purchasing this drill, don't hesitate to buy the refurb. Bravo Dewalt! Highly recommended!

Almost free, price of two 18V batteries is $110 on sale at Home Depot. That means I got a charger, drill, case for $20 more. I should have bought two or three for Christmas Gifts.

I was hesitant about getting a recon tool but I needed the 18V battery for my other Dewalt cordless tools. The tool came before the expected date (b/c Amazon always overestimated their delivery date) and out of the box the tool look used. One battery has fainted logo of XRP and the other battery look relatively new. The drill has some dust and also look a little used. I think most of this tool which Amazon labeled as recon are return used items (the newer one are probably broken down items where the customers has not used it extensively and returned to the Dewalt). The drill work fine (would give it a 5 stars if the used battery last longer). My wife got a chance to drill about 50-60 cabinet doors to put in new handles and the drill has more than enough power for it. I also tested out drilling a few holes in concret block and had no problem with it. Has not have much time to test out the drill more but will update once I do more stuff. I only wish the Dewalt recon factory in Mexico has given two new batteries (if they were to bring it back to remanfacture standard instead of inspecting to see if it work and throwing back into a new case). Overall, I am happy with the purchase and I had a good price (130s) for this recon drill (solid built like most Dewalt cordless tools but a little heavier). Amazon should label recon tools as used instead.

I'm always leery of buying refurb'd equipment, but I must've struck gold. This is a great deal that I got. I've used the hell out of it these past few weeks and I've had no problems. Thanks Amazon!

A great upgrade for me from the wimpy light weight cordless drill I have used in the past. Two battery packs provided for charging while working.

The Factory-Reconditioned DEWALT is a great addition to my tool collection. I could not tell it had ever been used and the reconditioned price was just too good! I highly recommend to everyone.

I have owned this drill for 4 years now and it is by far the best dril lI've ever held in my hand. This drill will turn through anytthing and drive any screw you can manage to hold the drill against. I even drove 7/16" lag bolts (predrilled 1/4" hole) 3 inches into a stid and only had to turn them 1/2" more by socket to finish the job. I used this drill to turn over a 2 cylider four wheeler motor to see if the rectifier was working. I will upgrade to DeWalt's Lithium Battery to make the drill even better. I will only buy DeWalt from now on when it comes to cordless tools.

We picked this up because the price was so attractive, $68 shipped. Yes it was reconditioned but the one we received looked brand new. It works just great, battery holds a good charge which leads us to believe it too was new. This is a very powerful unit and has come in handy for this summers home renovations. Keep an eye on the price as it does fluctuate quite a bit.

This was the first time I've ever bought a refurbished tool. I've been pretty happy with this drill so far. It is replacing a Makita 6347WDE which I loved dearly. Everything on this refurb works perfectly, however the motor does throw some sparks on sudden stops. I'm not sure if this is abnormal, but it is slightly disconcerting. But the batteries alone are worth the price!

Bought a 129.00 refurb, works and looks like new. This one has the metal casing and three speeds, and it's a definite improvement over the older two speed style, although I like the 2-speeds German-made chuck better.
br /
br /I don't use it too much, as it's a heavy wrist breaker, choosing my 9.6v and 14.4 tools for simple wood drilling, and my impact driver for screws. But when you want to use a hole saw on a door, or drill in a few holes for tapcons, works like a champ.
br /
br /The batteries are the only weak point, the newer li-on and nimh are superior technologies, just add more cash.

I bought this for my husband for his birthday. When it arrived, you couldn't even tell that it was reconditioned, not a scratch on it. The drill works perfectly and he is very happy with his new drill.

When I bought this using the free super savings shipping, they gave me a quote of up to two weeks. Two days later it was in my hand as I drilled through my foundation! This drill packs quite a punch, and so far as a homeowner I haven't been able to give it anything that it can't handle. Great little machine at a great price. Is "factory reconditioned" synonomous for "brand new"!?

For ~$129 (Friday sale), there's no better deal around for such a powerful drill with two ni-cad batteries. Very high quality. Had some grease marks that easily wiped clean on the drill. Otherwise excellent condition and a bargain, even for a refurbished unit.

Works okay for a reconditioned Dewalt. Some dimunition of power on constant drilling projects, which was unexpected. Still better than a new drill of another brand.

Good Buy!! Even with Next Day shipping was less expensive than store bought. So far, both tools are good quality. I would recommend these to any bargain seekers out there.
