This is an excellent buy from Dewalt. The Quality of the XRP tools is superb. Right out of the box I was impressed with the look of the tools. I am a woodworker and the impact driver is a real handy tool. Since I've been using the impact driver, I have never stripped out another screw head. This used to happen quite a bit using a drill to drive screws. This is my favorite tool. I haven't had the need to use the hammerdrill yet but I am looking forward thinking about different projects I will be able to use it for. The included Dewalt bag has come in very handy also. I have plenty of room to put in the drill, driver, and the charger with room left to put in things like drop cords and worklights. I am very satisfied with my purchase. All the guys at the shop are jealous too.

14.4v Hammer Drill Chuck Wobbel

There is signficant wobbel in the Chuck that is provided with the 14.4v Hammer Drill. I've contacted the Dewalt customer service representatives, but they deny there is any systemic issue with their manufacturing and quality control process on this particular drill(I've seen several other reviews on this drill that indicate similiar problems). I like the 14.4v impact driver, tons of power. However, after using my dads Makita I find that drill impact driver to probably be a better balanced tool and the metal hydride batteries are a plus. If I can get the Chuck wobbel straightened out with Dewalt on the hammer drill I would still consider this a good deal.

I love em

Just got these in the mail today and used both of the drills tonight. So far they work great. I am building a house right now and I can already tell how useful these drills will be. The impact drill drives screws fast and easy. I am building the countertops for my home and the screws I drive into the plywood sheets enter the wood with amazing speed. The other nice thing about this drill is that the torque "breaks" when the screw is flush with the wood. Although you can still drive the screw deeper if you wish. The hammer drill works great too. I used it tonight to drill a door catch for my basement door. The security screws that hold the deadbolt catch are so long that you have to drill into the foundation. No problem at all with this drill. The other thing I love about this drill is the ease in tightening the bit onto the drill. With one hand you can tighten the drill bit...like I said I am in love. I would recommend this package to anyone in the market for a new drill set. A+.

Sweet deal, hammer drill is very handy with alot of torque, first project was drilling with a 4" holesaw - prepare yourself for power !
br /I changed Impact from 1/4 drive to 3/8 square drive, very powerful with alot of torque (around 130 lbs)
br /I have a 2 year old 12v Dewalt dw051 Impact that is still going strong......I'm sold.
br /I would like to see more 3/8 square drive Impacts from Dewalt
br /other than the dw051.

VERY HAPPY

The drill and impact have plenty of power. The only negative I have found on Dewalt's 14.4 tools are the price of the batteries! Very expensive.

This has got to be one of the best combo packages out there. The impact drill is the best I have ever used. I own my own woodworking business and I should have bought this drill years ago. It makes fastening jobs so much easier with no stripping screw heads or pre-drilling. The hammer drill is very powerful though I have not used it yet to its full potential. You can not beat the price for this combo package well worth it.

Great combo pack for the price

This deal combines the Drill/Driver with an Impact and a charger, all together in a tough, heavy duty bag that you can throw in drill bits and accesories. The 14.4 is lighter than the 18 volt but still has plenty of power for normal construction use.

Great Value, but poor quality control

Brought the combo, great tools, powerful, lighter than the 18v, good feels. It's not loud under operation. But the quality control was terrrible. The Jacob chuch is somehow wobbles, or off center. I can see the driv bit wobbles. when attach to long drill bit, or long masonry bit, you can see it wobbles 1/4". Still trying to determine why by talking to HOmeDeport and Dewalt. Exchange it once, but same problem with Impact driver. I think there's quality control problem with the latest batch from the factory.
